Some nonfiction books that we have enjoyed are: "Hidden Army: Clay Soldiers of Ancient China" and many of the "Pebble First Guides", like the Pebble First Guide to Penguins, and the Pebble First Guide to Rocks and Minerals. Who knew a book about rocks would be so interesting to a first-grader!
